As a MetrumRG Scientific Project Manager, you will uniquely adapt your project experiences in service of biomedical modeling and simulation scientists in client projects. You have strengths in communication, management of budgeting and timelines, and superior organization skills. You have a sincere interest in scientific problem solving and drug development that you will use to hone project management decisions. Ideally, you will have experience in successfully managing projects in a consulting services environment. This role requires energy, creativity, humility, compassion, and a sincere desire to serve the fight against disease.


  • Partner with high-performing teams to ensure the success of high value, scientific projects
  • Communicate project schedule, high-level scope, resource allocation, and budget to various internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in the development of project roadmap, to ensure logistic feasibility
  • Perform project risk assessment and mitigation planning
  • Leverage scientific project experience to anticipate roadblocks and other issues
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Ability to take draft notes in scientific meetings
  • Able to be the client’s main source of contact on the project relating to scope, timing, and budget
  • Manage relationships with external clients and other project stakeholders
  • Assist in determining potential follow-on project work
  • Manage multiple projects at once, tailoring services appropriately

Requirements, Skills:

  • Confident communication with clients and internal teams around plans, pivots, and escalation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including remote settings)
  • Solid organizational skills and superior attention to detail
  • Proven success in prioritizing work with multiple projects in parallel
  • Demonstrated aptitude for continuous process improvement
  • Able to apply Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies as needed
  • A service and coaching mindset

Education and Experience:

  • A 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • A degree in pharmacology, biology, pharmacy, etc (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5 years of experience professionally managing projects and project teams
  • 5 years of experience in a scientific project role within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

Physical Demands: The job frequently requires working at a computer terminal, standing or sitting, and the ability to operate the computer with proficiency.

Location: This position is preferably based in the Hartford, CT region. Remote with periodically required travel is an option for the right candidate.
